The Hills are at work and camp today. I am just up after being up for several hours in the night. The kids were also up then, but Christine slept through it. Nicole is coming home in 30 minutes to take us on a tour. This is a beautiful place. However, the catholic and protestant church bells take some getting used to! "The bells are getting closer. "What?" "I said, the bells are getting closer!"

Back from France and Italy to the order of Switzerland. Feels like home to be with family again. We are off to Zurich today to return our trusty Ford Focus wagon - after logging about 2500 km. We will spend the last few days of our trip exploring around Schonenberg, before boarding the plane on Monday, arriving in Vancouver at 6:00 pm. While we are eager to be home, we are also sad about leaving behind our fantastic travels.

Okay, we have been out of range for this week in the Luberon. Any way, no time for typing too much wine and touring. Sitting in Bonnieux in a terrase restaurant on a cliff looking over the Luberon valley towards the Marquis de Sade chateaux in La Coste. Beautiful, sunny day. Sad to say our time in France is ending. Please pass this message along to anyone and everyone. Off to Italy on Saturday. Wonderful week here.

Oh yeah, Geoff, Claire, and Erika, could you make sure that this is being read by all the usual suspects? Thanks.

Big couple of days. First day on the road without the Hill's guiding us. We used Nicole's car and her trusting TomTom GPS - the lovely voice of "Jane" to drive to Luzern. We went to the amazing Swiss Transportation Museum. Long day, home at 6:30. We all get a kick out of our friend Jane - she never gets upset when the driver blows it. Like when he started cruising down the clear lane on the right, only to find out it was a bus lane.

Today we ventured out on the buses to Wagenswil to catch the train into Zurich to pick up our rental car. Pouring with rain at Schonenberg, but quite lovely in Zurich. We wandered through the cobble stone streets of the old city. Many buildings orginate from the 13 and 14 hundreds! Grabbed lunch and sat outside in a little square and watched the people. The kids wandered with the best of them. They haven't complained, despite the lack of sleep. Still not getting through the night, but Gravol is helping us all! Bought some more in Zurich. Zurich is split up with various rivers coming out of the Zurichsee, all crossed with beautiful bridges. Eventually ended up at the Hertz office to pick our own blue Ford Focus wagon. Plugged in our trusty "Jane" and cruised back to Horgen for groceries and ice cream then home to Schonenberg. We are bathing and relaxing until we head back to Horgen to meet the Hills for dinner at the Crazy Cow!

Tomorrow we are off to France. Staying at Aix les Bains for a night on the way to Perrotet.

Love to all, Martin

I thought you were breaking into song! "the hills are alive, with the sound of music!..."

don't let christine get all the sleep. but don't sleep away the holidays either - I'm sure you didn't spend all the money getting there to just snooze away! ;-)

xoxo
