The Clothes Show Live from December 7-12, 2007 in Birmingham, UK is the largest fashion and beauty event in the world. Full of fashion, hair, beauty, make-up, models and celebrities, the Environmental Justice Foundation will be giving top tips on Ethical shopping as well as showing fashionistas how is the new Black and all about being Eco chic.
EJF collaborated recently with top designers: Luella Bartley, Betty Jackson, Christian Lacroix and Katharine Hamnett to produce 100% organic cotton t-shirts to support EJF cotton campaign Choosing Your Cotton Carefully helping to end abuses linked to global cotton production such as child labour.
Top supermodel, Irina Lazareanu, singer and drummer of Baby Shambles and face of the Kate Moss collection has been another strong supporter for EJF cotton campaign. Among others are Lily Cole, KT Tunstall, Erin O Georgia Frost, Coco Rocha and many more.
Worth around $32 billion every year, global cotton production could be improving lives but both forced and child labour, massive use of toxic pesticides and overuse of the world water means that cotton is creating misery for millions. EJF believes environmental security is a human right and campaigns for better clothing labelling that shows country of origin of the cotton fibre as well an EU ban on cotton products made by forced child labour.
